A video published on December 23, 2014 shows the towering-size of Mediterranean Shipping Company’s (MSC) new vessel, the MSC OSCAR, which is now the largest in the world. The video shows a brief timeline of the carrier’s ship sizes over the years, starting with the MSC ASYA, built in 2003, that is able to carry 9,178 TEU and is followed by shots of ship builders constructing the mammoth OSCAR vessel. As previously reported the MSC OSCAR as having a total TEU-capacity of 19,224 TEU, which is set to over take China Shipping Container Lines CSCL GLOBE, which has a TEU-capacity of 19,100, as the largest capacity container ship on the planet.
