seven seas explorerThe 54,000-ton, all-suite vessel is taking shape at Fincantieri shipyards in Italy and will become the lines fourth and largest vessel designed to hold 750 guests.

"We set a high benchmark for SEVEN SEAS EXPLORER, , not only to build a ship that far surpasses the current standard in luxury cruising, but to design a ship that will be recognized industry-wide as the most luxurious ship ever," said line president Jason Montague. "This ship will offer our guests a new level of grandeur throughout."

The pinnacle of the ship's luxury offerings is the Regent Suite, a 3,875-square-foot, two-bedroom suite complete with its own in-room spa retreat. In addition to a sauna, steam room and treatment area, the suite offers a glass-enclosed Vista Garden sitting area with 270-degree views of the ship's bow.

Renderings show a living room with full bar and grand piano. Also working the 270-degree is the ship's La Veranda, which transforms from a breakfast and lunch buffet option during the day to one of the ship's three specialty dining options at night, a fine dining venue called the Sette Mari at La Veranda. The second dining option is the line's signature steakhouse Prime 7, which will be getting an updated look with dark purple hues and silver accents going for the feel of a London private member The third dining option is the line's main dining room, Compass Rose, which also be getting a new look, described as having a "whimsical grotto feel throughout the restaurant.

"The ship's entertainment options include the Constellation Theater, a 6 94-seat venue with cabaret-style seating, the Observation Lounge that pays deference to the 1920s and the Explorer Lounge, which features a small stage for live performances. It's the first time the line has partnered with Fincantieri. The line hasn't had a new ship introduced to the market since 2003. Fincantieri did construct Regent Seven Seas' sister line Oceania's newest ships though, the MARINA in 2011 and RIVIERA in 2012.

The maiden voyage is a 14-night sailing from Monte Carlo to Venice on July 20, 2016, which will be followed by 11 various Mediterranean sailings. Reservations will be open to Seven Seas Society members starting Jan. 19 and for the general public on Feb. 4.
