IMO video: “Making Waves: Women leaders in the maritime world”

IMO has released the video “Making Waves: Women leaders in the maritime world” on to promote the advancement of women in shipping and in support of International Women’s Day 2015. This video is reporting on continuing efforts by the International Maritime Organization and the World Maritime University (WMU) to promote the advancement of women in shipping. It puts the spotlight on the outcome of the 2014 “Maritime Women: Global Leadership” conference held by WMU in Malmo, Sweden, and co-sponsored by IMO. The conference attracted women and men from more than 70 countries to discuss the advancement of women throughout the maritime professions.

  1. Why only in decision making, why not seafaring especially in the engine room. Why only women in deck jobs? Do you feel weak to work there or exhausted by the heat and the work load? Come and start from the basics and work your way up as men have done in the past centuries. Then there is equality otherwise its a hoax.
