LRAnnouncement from Lloyds Register

Following the departure of Peter Waller, we are delighted to announce that Zacharias Siokouros will be joining Lloyd’s Register assuming the role of Cyprus Marine Business Manager with effect from the 28th of April 2015.

Zacharias comes with a wealth of experience stemming from almost 25 years in the shipping industry, his last appointment being that of Managing Director of GL (Cyprus). He has previously held the position of the Technical Director of Louis Cruises, Limassol, Cyprus and other technical positions in the industry.

Zacharias has been the President of the Cyprus Naval Architects and Marine Engineers Association for over 10 years. He has also held the position of the Deputy Secretary General of CYMEPA. Zacharias was among the founding members of the “Maritime Institute of Eastern Mediterranean” and currently holds the position of President. Moreover, he has been the initiator of LYNCEUS, an Innovative Project funded by the European Union’s Seventh Framework Programme. The LYNCEUS Project won the Innovation Award at the 2014 Lloyd’s List Global Awards.

An event to mark the occasion and discuss the way Lloyd’s Register will be further enhancing our service and focus in the Cyprus market, as well as capturing the growing potential of the business, will be soon announced.
