Just in time for the SMM trade fair in Hamburg, DNV GL has published this year’s second issue of the classification society’s customer and stakeholder magazine MARITIME IMPACT. It features outstanding projects with customers and covers digital innovation and other technology trends in shipping.

The theme of the issue is: ‘Meet the Future’. “At the SMM the primary focus is on digitalization – a topic that we have chosen as one of our core strategic areas going forward. Smarter operations are built around digitally enhanced processes and several of the stories in this issue of MARITIME IMPACT feature new digital solutions to help our customers,” says Knut Ørbeck-Nilssen, CEO of DNV GL – Maritime. “We also look at projects that showcase new green propulsion solutions, such as the Ecoship project led by the Japanese NGO Peace Boat and the first NOx Tier III compliant engine developed by MAN.”
