A range of new advanced handling equipment has been added as part of an ongoing upgrade by DP World Limassol in Cyprus. The new productive performance equipment will significantly enhance the efficiency and safety of port operations and reduce vessel turnaround time. The new equipment will be used predominantly for the loading and unloading of general cargo, break bulk and oil and gas.
These acquisitions are part of DP World Limassol’s continuous investment in equipment to enhance services to customers and better handle the increasing general cargo and Ro-Ro volumes. The new equipment, listed below, will ensure that the DP World Limassol operations possess productivity enhancing options, aimed at delivering sustainable and reliable services and continue to improve customer satisfaction – one of the core objectives of DP World Limassol.
The new equipment includes the following:
- 1 x Reach Stacker 40 tn for the handling of general cargo and containers
- 3 x ITVs (Tug Masters) for the movement of cargoes on trailers
- 1 x 64tn Mobile Harbour Crane with 2 spreaders for handling of General/Bulk Cargoes
- 1 x Ro/Ro Fork Lift 37.5 tons for handling of general cargo and containers
In addition to making loading and unloading faster and easier, the operator compartment of these new machines has been ergonomically designed to provide good sight lines and better working comfort.
|Charles Meaby, General Manager, DP World Limassol, said: “The addition of this new equipment is an integral part of our commitment to provide high quality trade enabling services in Cyprus. DP World is a global leader in the management and operations of ports and we will continue making improvements to deliver a better service for port users.”|
