This is a quick reference, breaking down of types of incidents that occur to containerized cargo, listing the incidents, the cause of incidents, identifying any documentation needed, and identifying any loss preventative steps that can be taken.

  1. Damage to the container and potentially the cargo inside.
  2. Damages and losses to cargo inside a sound container.
  3. Wet damage to the cargo inside a container.
  4. Temperature damage to reefer cargo.

The publication has been written by the UK P&I club, in conjunction with TMC Marine Consultancy, a leading maritime consultancy with surveyors specializing in container stowage as well as Jensen Associates an independent expert consultancy and survey company, specializing in the international trade of perishable products.
