(www.MaritimeCyprus.com) Antigua and Barbuda Maritime Administration authorized Dromon Bureau of Shipping (DromonClass) to provide verification services for the IMO data collection system for fuel oil consumption of ships as implemented by amendments to MARPOL Annex VI.

DromonClass can offer the following services to all ships flying Antigua and Barbuda flag:

  • Review and approval of Ship Fuel Oil Consumption Data Collection Plan (SEEMP Part II);
  • Verification of the reported data; and
  • Issuance of the Statement of Compliance.

DromonClass as the leading Verification Body is accredited under the ISO 14065 and provides worldwide services for Regulation (EU) 2015/757 on the monitoring, reporting and verification of carbon dioxide emissions from maritime transport (known as the EU MRV Regulation).

As a Recognized Organization (RO), DromonClass can provide services for the IMO data collection system for fuel oil consumption on behalf of various flag Administrations, including the Liberia flag.

Following this approval, ships flying Antigua and Barbuda flag can have DromonClass as a single Verification Body for both the IMO DCS and the EU MRV Regulation schemes. Since both schemes (i.e. the IMO and EU) have several similarities, the verification process can take place at one verification audit using the same source of data therefore, reducing the regulatory burden.
