(www.MaritimeCyprus.com) The 4th Marine Money Cyprus Forum will be held on Tuesday, 28th April 2020 at Four Seasons Hotel, Limassol.  Anchor Sponsor will again be Hellenic Bank and Cyprus Shipping Chamber and Cyprus Union of Shipowners endorse the event.  Mrs. Natasa Pilides, Shipping Deputy Minister will be the keynote speaker.  Marine Money looks forward to welcoming shipping and ship finance experts and investors from Cyprus, Europe and beyond to discuss the most up to the minute issues affecting ship finance and the maritime business in Cyprus.

2020 is the first year in a new decade and shipping and finance are going through somewhat of a transition in terms of environment and propulsion, trade routes and disputes, finance sources and geographies and structures. What is certain is that the decade ahead will be different in many respects from the decade just past. Cyprus continues to be a hub for ship management companies and increasingly a home for many shipping companies as well as a place to find attractive shipping finance. It is an EEC country on the fringes of a turbulent Middle East and this brings opportunity and caution.

Only a month ago the shipping markets were expecting 2020 to show positive supply and demand with external factors remaining challenging and unpredictable. This has changed with coronavirus which is causing disruption to shipping demand and holding up shipbuilding and repair.  This is an example of a threat which came from know where and is hard to model or predict. Until corona struck global economic growth looked more positive with regionalization rather than globalisation seeming to be the flavor.

Amongst many others, two issues to be discussed at the conference will be Shipping supply and demand versus external uncertainties in the 2020s: will ordering discipline be enough to counter challenging demand  and Decision making in times of technological change and a changing energy mix

The Marine Money Cyprus conference will touch on the above issues and more and highlight owners, financiers and investors who are shaping the industry. If you wish more information please see weblink at
