To minimize the risk of your ship being detained by PSC, the checklist should be used by the vessel’s crew prior to arrival into port. The items identified in this checklist focus on areas where deficiencies that have often resulted in PSC detention.
If any of the items identified in this checklist are not in good working condition, the crew should take appropriate steps to rectify the deficiencies noted prior to arrival into port.
The checklist is organized according to distinct areas onboard ship for easy reference. Please note that this checklist is an arrival checklist for port state control.
