Acheon Akti Navigation Ltd is looking for a Crewing Officer for their office in Limassol.
Requirements and Responsibilities:
- Minimum of 2 years experience in Crewing
- Extensive knowledge of the relevant Maritime legislation including STCW 2010 (Manilaamendments), MLC, SOLAS and Flag State Authority regulations
- Well-established network of industry contacts including manning agencies, flag state administration staff and seafarers
- Strong communication skills and can talk to vessel crews with confidence and from a position of knowledge
- You have the ability to get people on board, and drive change as well as the ability to create structure for others and put things in writing that give others clarity and direction
- Strong knowledge of offshore safety practices is essential
- A seafaring qualification would be an added advantage
- Good to Expert user of Microsoft Office suite including Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint
Duties:
- To request via Company’s Manning Agents and select qualified Crew Members in accordance with the Company’s and Clients standards and vessel’s requirements
- To follow the Company’s instructions to ensure that the applicable requirements of the law of the Flag State of the Vessel are satisfied in respect of manning levels, rank, qualification and certification of the Crew
- To ensure that the crew members hold valid STCW certificates and in compliance with the 2010Manila Amendments, are in possession of a valid medical certificate issued in accordance with MLC2006 requirements
- To ensure that the Crew shall have a command of the English language of a sufficient standard to enable them to perform their duties safely
- To ensure that their level of competence and personal qualities are sufficient for the successful performance of their duties on board
- To conduct checking of candidates to ensure that their previous experience and performance conform with the Company’s requirements
- To check the employment contract terms and conditions of the Crew
- To prepare travel arrangements for the Crew including repatriation
- To arrange all travel documents with the appointed port agent to allow each Crew Member safe travel to and from the Vessel
