Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Monitor and follow up of all purchasing requisitions of the vessels
- Obtaining and evaluating quotations based on price, quality, track record and payment terms
- Liaise with technical/marine departments to verify quantities and specifications
- Responsible to place orders and follow up till delivery of stores on board
- Daily communication with vessels, suppliers and agents in order to arrange timely and cost-effective delivery of stores
- Check, approve and process invoices from suppliers
- Reporting directly to the purchasing manager
Qualifications and Requirements:
- College or university graduate (BSc in Shipping, Maritime Studies, Business Management)
- Previous experience in procurement will be considered as an advantage but not a requirement since full training will be provided
- Team player
- Ability to organize and prioritize work
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent computer skills and good knowledge of English and Greek languages
