This was the general sentiment among exhibitors and participants of the 10th East Med Marine and Offshore Exhibition. 85 exhibitors and more than 400 shipping and maritime professionals attended the exhibition, conferences, workshops. This year’s increased attendance verifies that the local shipping industry is growing and extends a vote of confidence for Cyprus macroeconomic stability.
During the 2-day event, customers and services providers had the opportunity to discuss and learn more about technological trends and how they impact the operations and efficiency of ships. Among other important topics, the exhibition hosted the Baseblue conference “Future of Bunkers 2023 & Beyond” and the Fameline Technology Conference “Rebooting the Maritime Industry.
How can technology drive value, resilience and sustainability?” Three interesting presentations were given by Carell – “Navigating the Hydrogen Revolution”, Tenaro GmbH – “How to kill new piston rings fast/ an insight to liner wear shapes” and Martechnic GmbH – “A new non-chemical approach to engine cooling water”.
Special attention has been given by the Deputy Minister of Shipping to the role of the shipping cluster in Cyprus and the importance of the development of supporting and auxiliary services to the shipping and upcoming offshore industries. The event has been endorsed by the Deputy Ministry of Shipping and Cyprus Shipping Chamber.
The exhibition was further enriched with a closing cocktail party where exhibitors had the opportunity to further network with key technical and purchasing experts operating within Cyprus and the Eastern Mediterranean region.
