
Major Job Responsibilities:
- Maintain strict security concerning personal information on the computer and in personnel files.
- Enter crew and account data from source documents.
- Review data for deficiencies or errors, correcting incompatibilities prior to input.
- Inputs data in accordance with program procedures.
- Scan documents and print files when necessary.
- Verify references to ensure new personnel is suitable for positions in accordance with regulations.
- Confirm validity of medical examination for personnel.
- Liaise with third parties regarding bookings for medical examinations.
- Update and maintain crew list of manning in respect of each vessel.
- Arrange applications and processing of Seaman’s Books and endorsement through flag state.
- Check and file ISM monthly reports from the vessels.
- Maintain records and databases through filing, retrieval, retention, storage, compilation, coding and updating.
- Perform general administrative duties as required.
- Monitor areas of responsibility and communicate any potential issues.
- Any other reasonable duties as defined by the role and management.
Requirements:
- Minimum one year experience in a data entry position.
- Excellent computer knowledge and administrative skills.
- Clean criminal record.
- Knowledge of STCW 95 & MLC 2006 would be considered an advantage.
Skills & Competencies:
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy of data entry.
- Excellent organisational skills, including multitasking and time management.
- Proactive with independent working skills.
- Familiar with shipping industry-standard rules and regulations would be considered an advantage.
- Good English - written & oral.
