Columbia Shipmanagement is looking for a QSHE Officer to join the team in Limassol.
The QSHE Officer shall have the following qualifications:
• A university degree and at least two years relevant work experience within the shipping industry in similar role or at least three years relevant work experience with Columbia Shipmanagement;
• Shipboard experience is considered an advantage;
• Good command of the English language;
• Good leadership, controlling and communication skills as well the ability to work within a team;
• Good understanding of all aspects of QSHE department operation.
The QSHE Officer is responsible for:
• Preparing QSHE related reports requested by 3rd parties and communicating same to clients;
• Coordinating with Masters timely reporting of implementation of agreed corrective actions originating from internal audits and ensuring records are up-to-date;
• Reviewing, monitoring and follow-up of Near Miss reporting from the fleet, as required;
• Collecting data for, preparing and distributing Plans and Procedures for Recovery of Persons from the Water;
• Assisting Masters in preparation for External Audits;
• Coordinating External Audit Arrangements and communication with RO’s;
• Assisting in monitoring and follow-up of Company and all Departments Objectives and Targets;
• Monitoring the publications library in the QSHE Department and ensuring that it is indexed and maintained up to date;
• Working together with Senior QSHE Officer on projects related to taking new vessels entering or leaving management;
• Being adequately conversant with the Company’s Management System;
• Implementing effectively the Company’s Management System;
• Contributing to the development of the new or the amendment of existing procedures;
• Promoting and supporting efforts for continual improvement;
• Participating in various Projects;
• Assisting QSHE Manager / DPA upon request.
The QSHE Officer reports and is accountable to the QSHE Manager / DPA.
