COLUMBIA Cruise Services GmbH & Co. KG (CCS), affiliated to the COLUMBIA Group, is a Hamburg-based company founded in 2014 with a branch office on Cyprus. Due to their continuous fleet expansion, they are looking for the right individual to strengthen and complement their Cyprus-based Port Operations Team.
Key Responsibilities:
• Coordinate the efficient arrival/departure of the ship in ports.
• Support with compliance regrading safety regulations and procedures during all port operations.
• Liaise with port agents, and other relevant stakeholders to facilitate smooth ship operations while in port.
• Compile port cost comparison based on ship particulars.
• Nomination of port agents.
• Manage berth/anchorage reservation process in accordance with the itinerary in coordination with internal and external stakeholders.
• Handle and process proforma and final disbursement accounts (FDA/PDA).
• Troubleshoot and resolve any operational issues or delays that may arise during port stays.
• Implement and enforce company policies and procedures related to port operations.
• Provide support and assistance to the ship’s crew and owners as needed during port calls.
• Stay updated on industry trends and developments in port operations to continuously improve processes and efficiency.
• Support with any additional operational tasks.
• Support the port cost budget planning process.
• Support in creating and presenting reports and analysis to communicate to relevant stakeholders and contribute to an efficient itinerary & port planning process.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in maritime studies, logistics, business administration, or a related field.
• Previous experience in port operations, maritime logistics, controlling or cruise ship management preferred.
• Strong understanding of port operations, regulations, and industry practices.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with a focus on delivering high-quality service.
• Result driven personality with a proactive attitude towards tackling challenges and driving results, having excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills and the ability to work autonomously as well as part of a team.
• Very good written and spoken English skills (Frensh is a plus).
• Proficient computer skills in using relevant software applications for scheduling, reporting, and communication, (i.e. Excel, PowerPoint, previous experience in use of MXP is a plus).
• Attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.
• Willingness to work irregular hours and travel as needed.
