Job Objective
- Oversees and implements strategies that align with the Schulte Group’s commitment to sustainability and responsible business practices. Develops and manages initiatives to reduce the environmental impact of our operations, ensures compliance with international sustainability reporting regulations, and promotes social responsibility within the company and the communities we operate in. As a member of the ESG Core Team, collaborates the rest of the Team and other internal departments to integrate sustainability considerations into decision-making processes, monitor the quality of data and KPIs related to ESG goals, and communicate progress to stakeholders through the annual ESG Report (s).
Key Accountabilities
- Researches and monitors the global and local ESG regulatory environment and trends, to identify company’s liabilities and maintain an ambitious ESG strategy.
- Propose projects/initiatives to accelerate the company’s transition to sustainable operations and, upon approval by the ESG Core Team and ESG Head, engage all relevant departments for successful implementation.
- Designs tools and methods to ensure the ESG data is available and accurate as per the requirements of the law.
- Coordinates collaboration and the continuous engagement of the ESG Core Team members to ensure effective implementation of ESG initiatives in line with the company’s goals.
- Communicates the company's ESG initiatives, progress, and performance to internal and external stakeholders.
- Promotes and ensures high engagement/volunteering by all employees in the Schulte Group’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives including Schulte Group Forest, Education for Youth and Blue Seas Matter.
- Oversees and checks the potential environmental and social risks of new projects and advises / supports the decision-making.
Requirements
Education & Work Experience
- Bachelor’s and/or master’s degree in environmental or social sciences or Sustainability.
- Desirable: At least one year’s experience in an ESG consulting/auditing firm, or a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO), or the ESG department of another private company.
Job Specific Skills
- An understanding of emerging sustainability reporting standards, climate frameworks and trends such as CSRD, GRI, SASB, SBTi, etc.
- Proficiency in collecting, analyzing, and interpreting ESG data, as well as the ability to generate clear and meaningful reports for internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to identify, assess, and manage environmental and social risks associated with business activities, including developing and implementing safeguarding measures to mitigate potential negative impacts.
- Capability to develop and implement sustainable business strategies, integrating environmental, social, and governance considerations into the overall corporate strategy for long-term responsible growth.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage with diverse stakeholders, including internal teams, investors, regulatory bodies, and local communities, fostering collaboration and transparency.
- Fluency in English
