Mylaki Shipping Agency CY Ltd., providing quality agency services to ports of Limassol, Vassiliko and Larnaka, with branches in Cyprus and Greece, is seeking a qualified and experienced Operator/ Port Agent, for the Limassol offices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinates and monitors the agency appointments
- Constantly monitors the turnarounds of vessels serviced
- Is in contact with terminals and local vendors
- Carries out relevant formalities at port and customs authorities
- Coordinates supplies, embarkation/ disembarkation of crew members, inspectors, and surveyors
- Ensures all local laws, regulations and company’s policies are followed
- Ensures that incoming inquiries/ e-mails are timely responded, and necessary actions are being taken, at all times
- Is in contact with clients and relevant parties, informing and advising on inquiries
- Keeping clients posted with vessel’s berthing prospects, turnarounds, and any issues that arise
- Coordinates vessels’ operations in ports
- Is aware of policies of companies he is cooperating with, ensuring that these are followed with no conflicts
- Is in constant communication with other port agents, advising on actions that should be taken, depending clients’ requirements
- Handles the collection of invoices
- Follows and complies with corporate business and ethics policies and ensures operations are in line with policies and that corrective and preventive actions are taken when needed.
Candidate Profile:
- Professional experience as Port Agent and/or Operator, in maritime sector
- With knowledge of local requirements, regulations, and local authorities
- With 1- 3 years’ experience as Port Agent and/or Operator
- A problem solver, multitasker with analytical mind
- With ability to work under pressure and build contingency plans
- Strong business ethics
- Good MS Office knowledge, especially MS word & MS Excel
- Proficient use of English language, both oral and written
