(www.MaritimeCyprus.com) Bernhard Schulte Shipmanagement (BSM), a global leader in ship management with a fleet of over 670 vessels, is preparing for a significant leadership change as it heads into the new year.

Sebastian von Hardenberg, currently the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of BSM, will step into the role of Chief Executive Officer (CEO), succeeding Ian Beveridge. Von Hardenberg, who joined the Schulte Group in 2005 and has served as BSM’s CFO since 2015, brings extensive experience and a deep understanding of the company’s operations.

“I’m deeply honoured to take on this role and grateful for the trust placed in me,” von Hardenberg stated. “The shipping industry is navigating transformative challenges, including digitalisation, stricter decarbonisation regulations, and a global shortage of skilled workers. These shifts are reshaping the market, and I’m committed to steering BSM’s strategy through this period of profound change.”

Ian Beveridge, who has played a pivotal role in BSM’s growth and success, will continue as CEO of the Schulte Group while also serving as Chairman of the BSM board. His ongoing leadership ensures continuity and strategic oversight for the broader Schulte Group.

As the shipping industry confronts unprecedented transitions, BSM’s leadership change positions the company to adapt and thrive in a dynamic environment.
