
Columbia Shipmanagement is hiring. The Group Director of Manning Agencies holds a strategic leadership role responsible for overseeing the global operations, performance and development of the manning agencies. This position plays a critical role in ensuring the effective recruitment and management of seafarers across the fleet, while maintaining compliance with international maritime regulations.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 15 years of experience in crewing/manning
- At least 5 years in a Senior Management position, in a large-sized ship-management company
- Strong knowledge of worldwide sourcing areas
- Well-built relations with various industry stakeholders
Key Responsibilities:
- Setting the strategic direction for manning operations across all regions, aligning it with the overall goals and direction of the Company
- Supervising the manning offices, along with frequent travelling to these locations to ensure efficiency and smooth operation
- Overseeing the global recruitment of seafarers; identifying areas for improvement to increase efficiency and effectiveness of recruitment globally
- Implementing initiatives to promote crew welfare, engagement and long-term retention, improving seafarer satisfaction and reducing turnover
- Coordinate regular audits, assessments and benchmarks of manning offices to ensure compliance with internal policies, industry standards and best practices
- Managing budgets and optimising costs, while maintaining quality and compliance
- Providing regular reports to the Management on manning agencies’ related matters
- Mentoring and supporting the manning agencies, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment
- Establishing and strengthening strong, long-term relationships with key partners and clients to support business growth and collaboration
- Any additional task, as assigned from time to time, by the Chief of Maritime HR
