Histria Chartering Limited, a dynamic and growing shipping company based in Limassol, Cyprus, operating a modern fleet of product tanker vessels, is seeking a motivated and ambitious individual to join our Chartering Department as a Trainee Chartering Executive.
This is an exciting opportunity for a university graduate, a former seafarer, or anyone with a strong interest in the commercial side of the shipping industry to build a long-term career in chartering.
About the Role:
You will receive full training and mentorship from experienced professionals, gaining exposure to the commercial and operational aspects of tanker chartering. The role offers hands-on experience with global chartering markets and career growth opportunities within the company.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor market trends and assess potential business opportunities.
- Assist in marketing the company’s vessels to customers and brokers in coordination with the Chartering Manager.
- Support the negotiation and execution of charter parties and related contracts.
- Liaise with vessel management teams during pre- and post-fixture stages.
- Maintain up-to-date records of vessel positions, itineraries, and fixtures.
- Identify and respond to customer needs and industry developments
Candidate Profile:
- University degree in Shipping, Maritime Studies, Business, Economics, Engineering, or a related field,
OR relevant seafaring experience, particularly in tanker operations. - Genuine interest in the commercial shipping sector and willingness to learn chartering.
- Strong analytical and communication skills.
- Proactive, self-motivated, and solution-oriented.
- Team player with the ability to thrive in a dynamic environment.
- Excellent command of English, both written and spoken.
- Strong computer skills (MS Office and relevant software).
