As an IT Specialist within our maritime shipping management company, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and enhancing our IT infrastructure. This position is ideal for someone who is passionate abouttechnology, loves problem-solving, and is eager to take on the challenges of supporting IT operations in a dynamic maritime environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide IT support onboard our vessels and within our office, ensuring the reliability and efficiency of all systems.
- Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and network issues, both remotely and in-person.
- Participate in the deployment of IT infrastructure and systems on new vessels and within company premises.
- Ensure the security of our IT systems and data through regular monitoring and the implementation of appropriate security measures.
- Collaborate with external vendors and IT service providers to ensure the seamless operation of our IT services.
- Be willing and able to travel internationally to our vessels and other company locations as required for IT installations, upgrades, and troubleshooting.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest technologies and IT practices relevant to the maritime industry.
Requirements:
- University degree related to either Computer Science / Computer Engineering / Cyber Security.
- Proven experience in IT support, troubleshooting, and network administration (having worked in the shipping industry will be considered an asset in the recruitment process).
- Familiarity with maritime communication systems and IT infrastructure (&/or knowledge of Danaos ERP will be considered a plus).
- Excellent command of English, both written and verbal.
- Enthusiastic individual with a passion for technology and innovation.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
- Ability to travel internationally as required.
- A team player with excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently.
