On behalf of their client, a reputable ship management Company, Deloitte seeks to recruit an energetic and high-caliber professional for the position of Technical Superintendent, to be based in Limassol.
THE POSITION
The successful candidate will be responsible for the efficient, safe, and profitable operation of all vessels assigned in compliance with Company policies and procedures and local and international regulations and requirements. This position reports directly to the Technical Manager.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Ensure the safe and efficient operation of assigned vessels
- Day to day operation and monitoring technical performance of assigned vessels
- Follow-up all technical matters, give troubleshooting instructions to vessels
- Monitor PMS, defect reports, outstanding jobs, and Class matters
- Excellent knowledge of Class requirements, International Regulations, Vetting requirements, ISM code and compliance with all applicable rules and regulations
- Ensure the effective implementation of Company’s Safety Management System and Company’s Policies
- Deal with Class societies and arranging the renewal of statutory and Class certificates
- Review, monitor and verify the requisitions of spare parts, provisions, and inventory onboard in cooperation with the Purchasing department
- Excellent knowledge of vessels’ budget, planning and monitoring the vessels’ budget
- Prepare dry-docking/repairs specifications
- Attend dry-dock and supervising repairs; arranging and cooperating with Class, manufacturers, and subcontractors
- Execute inspection onboard in regular intervals
- Monitor the forthcoming maritime regulations
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor and/or master’s degree in Marine Engineering and/or Naval Architecture, or Chief Engineer certificate with sea service as Chief Engineer for minimum 3 years
- At least 5 years of experience in a similar position
- Excellent communication skills, organization skills and multitasking skills
- Excellent knowledge of the English language, both written and verbal; knowledge of Russian language will be considered an advantage
- Computer / software literacy
