A multi-discipline marine service provider is looking for a Junior Technical Superintendent to be based at their offices in Limassol, Cyprus.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provides technical assistance and support to the senior technical team in managing vessel operations, maintenance, and repair activities.
  • Assists in developing and implementing planned maintenance systems and schedules for assigned vessels, ensuring compliance with industry regulations and company standards.
  • Investigates technical issues, analyze problems, and recommend effective solutions to ensure optimal vessel performance and minimize downtime.
  • Maintains accurate records of vessel maintenance activities, inspections, and repairs. Generate reports on vessel performance, highlighting any concerns or areas for improvement.
  • Collaborates with the senior technical team to plan and oversee dry docking projects, including vessel inspections, repairs, and refurbishments.
  • Assists in maintaining an inventory of spare parts, ensuring their availability for maintenance and repair activities. Coordinate with suppliers and internal stakeholders to procure necessary parts.
  • Follows relevant maritime regulations, industry standards, and best practices. Ensure vessels adhere to safety, environmental, and quality standards.
  • Liaises with external vendors, contractors, and service providers to arrange necessary repairs, inspections, and maintenance activities. Monitor their performance and ensure compliance with contractual agreements.
  • Supports the senior technical team in monitoring and managing the assigned vessel's maintenance and repair budget, ensuring cost-effective operations.
  • Collaborates with cross-functional teams, including operations, crewing, and procurement, to ensure seamless coordination and effective communication.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Marine Engineering or a related field is preferred.
  • Excellent knowledge of the English Language is necessary
  • Previous experience in the maritime industry is desirable, particularly in vessel operations, maintenance, or technical support.
  • Familiarity with marine engineering systems, equipment, and industry standards.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues.
  • Knowledge of relevant maritime regulations and industry best practices.
