(www.MaritimeCyprus.com)Â President of the Cyprus Shipping Chamber, Themis Papadopoulos, has been reappointed Vice Chairman of the International Chamber of Shipping, for a two-year term.
This is an excellent recognition for the CSC and beneficial for Cyprus shipping and Cyprus in general, a press release by CSC said.
The Chamber also announced that it was well-represented in maritime meetings abroad. Namely, General Director of the Chamber, Thomas Kazakos, participated in the Annual General Meeting of the European Shipowners' Community Associations which took place in Stockholm, under the chairmanship of the Cypriot shipowner, Philippos Philis, and discussing current issues that concern European shipping.
The President of the Chamber, Themis Papadopoulos and its General Director also represented the Cypriot shipping industry at the Annual General Meeting of the International Chamber of Shipping in Manila.
According to the press release, the meeting focused on important issues concerning international shipping, such as the strategic goals, matters of policy, and the establishment of regulations, as well as imminent changes.
During the Assembly, the President of the Cyprus Shipping Chamber, Themis Papadopoulos, was re-appointed Vice Chairman.
Papadopoulos also participated in a conference organised by the International Shipping Chamber titled 'Shaping the Future of Shipping - Seafarer 2050,' and also held in Manila.
