OKINAWA, Japan (Oct. 03, 2009) Quartermaster Seaman Ricky C. Rodriguez uses a gyrocompass during sea and anchor detail aboard the amphibious dock landing ship USS Harpers Ferry (LSD 49). Harpers Ferry is part of the USS Denver Amphibious Ready Group, and is preparing to support humanitarian assistance operations at the request of the government of the Republic of Philippines in the wake of Typhoon Ketsana.
